I don’t know if I’m printing the other two books. All POD sucks and I’ll never use them again, but I can’t do a high quality print run and make a dime back with my current readership. Of course, those who are left (you, reading this) are the most important and awesome people ever so I don’t want to fuck you over. To put this in perspective: I could do an e-book release with extra side comics and sell it for $1 and I would still be making more money than printing after Paypal fees.

Please leave your thoughts on this, especially if you’re a customer or were planning to buy all three at once or something. Feel free to tell me how you will die if you do not get these on your bookshelf.

Oh yea, and updates shall now resume.

I won’t have reliable internet for two weeks but I hope to be a drawing machine and return to you in March with a buffer!

Some things came back positive but it’s not enough to be conclusive and not really related to my hand pain. The doctor told me straight up he didn’t think he could help me. He gave me some medication for nerve pain since normal pain meds don’t work but we’re just throwing things at the wall to see if they’ll stick at this point. I have to get labs again in 8 weeks for the unrelated stuff at which point I’ll get a second opinion if this medication doesn’t work. Basically I’m shit out of luck for now and need to just deal.

I’ll have a real page up soon I think. I can no longer draw on command, for long periods of time, or on any sort of schedule but I can sort of draw on good days. I really want to finish 2R and can’t imagine my life without art so I’m not giving up.

[edit 11-27-11] I just wanted to give everyone the update that my hands are still compromised. I have no insurance but will be visiting a doctor in January.

Volume 1 second additions arrived and they look pretty amazing. I chose thick paper and you can rest assured the binding is secure. I don’t have many right now – this was super pricey – but if you never grabbed one you can now! I will even suffer through 20 minutes of drawing if you buy a sketch. ;) The only difference between these and the old ones is a slightly different cover/size. Volume 2 isn’t going to happen until my hands heal.

I’m also selling a font called Blather. It’s made specifically for comic dialogue, has 3 weights and European/Cyrillic support. I used an early version in my short comic Shudder for Queer Fish which just went on sale if you want to see it in action (hint hint)!

I still plan the relaunch the store since the books are on their way but fuck if I know what will happen now. I am devastated.

There might be a delay in printing, though. I’m sitting here looking at terrible quality proofs that I wouldn’t feel comfortable selling to anyone. New printer, more money, no difference. If I could turn back time I’d do offset in a heartbeat but I didn’t know I’d get so many orders. Now it’s too late and I’ve sold to or killed off all of my fans. Oops. :C

EDIT Third time’s the charm! Got a new printer and ordered volume 1′s reprint. You get what you pay for and I am fucking done with shitty companies. Those should be back on sale in a couple weeks for good. Volume 2 is another story thebonuscomicistakingalongtimeandkeepsgettinglongerstopit.
